New questions every time

The figures are generated when the question is served, so the same question is very unlikely to come up twice. You cannot end up memorising answers instead of methods.

⏱
Practise under the clock

Test mode runs a timer across the whole set, so you can feel how long you can afford to spend. Practice mode marks each question as you go.

Your score comes with the time spent per question, so you can tell whether you are getting them wrong or simply too slow.

Common questions

What is a numerical reasoning test?

You are given a table or a chart and asked to work out a figure from it against the clock. The arithmetic is not advanced — percentages, ratios, differences, rates of change — but you have to find the right number in the data and do the sum quickly. Employers use it to sift graduate and professional applications, usually before an interview.

Can I use a calculator?

Yes, and you should. Most employers allow one, so practising mental arithmetic instead trains the wrong skill. Use the calculator you intend to use on the day, and time yourself with it. Being slow with an unfamiliar calculator costs more marks than being weak at arithmetic.

Is it really free, with no limit?

Yes. No sign-up, no account, no limit on attempts. The figures in each question are generated when the question is served, so going through a set again does not give you the same questions back.

What is not covered?

Only numerical reasoning. There is no verbal reasoning, no logical or inductive reasoning, and no situational judgement. Within numerical reasoning, questions are limited to what can be read from a table or a chart, so there are no geometry or diagram-drawing questions.

Will this replace a real practice test from the publisher?

No. If your employer names the test they use, take that publisher's own practice test as well — the exact format, wording and timing come from them. Use this to build up speed on the underlying reading and arithmetic, which is the part that actually improves with repetition.

About this tool

This page gives you unlimited numerical reasoning practice: tables, bar charts, line graphs and pie charts, with a worked solution for every question.

The thing that makes it different is that the numbers are generated at the moment the question is served. It is not a fixed bank of questions shown in a different order. That matters because with a fixed bank, the second time through you are remembering answers rather than practising the method, and your score stops telling you anything. Here that cannot happen.

There is no account. Your results are kept in your own browser's storage and are never sent to or stored on this site's servers. Clearing your browser data clears them too.

⚠ This is not a substitute for the test publisher's own practice materials. If you know which test you are sitting, use their practice test for the format and timing. Use this for the repetition.

This is a beta. Questions and solutions are generated with AI and may contain errors. If you spot one, please tell us through the feedback form.
